Top Five Blog Posts: Authentic Marketing for a New Year
As we start fresh into the calendar year, I've been thinking a lot about all the messages I've been seeing out there directed at coaches, healers and other creatives about building your business, marketing your programs or just generally getting yourself 'out there.'
Here are just a few I see scrolling through online ads:

There are so many things I see wrong with these and other messages.
Faulty Foundations
Many are founded on updated Get Rich Quick messaging, putting all the emphasis on you needing to do whatever it takes to 'land the sale' or 'get paying customers'. The truth is, it takes time and consistent attention to grow your business. No one talks about how much time it takes to build an audience and build trust in potential clients - two things that are must haves to 'land sales'. No one talks about how much just plain showing up and care and attention you need to give your business, especially when you're building your business' foundation, to see it develop and grow. That just doesn't make for sexy ad copy.
In addition to much of the current advice being based on manipulative sales tactics, the messages also don't feel good because they're opposed to principles of authentic marketing. They focus on a formulaic approach - one that's usually predicated on you buying and then following someone else's formula, not taking into account what makes you unique or where your individual strengths and passions lie.
As an Alternative, Try These Instead
To counteract some of that noise and to help you start off the new year on more nourishing ground, I'm sharing my top five most read blog posts from the last year.
If you haven't read them before, I invite you to pour yourself a beverage, find a few quiet minutes and sink into them. And, if you have read some or even all of them before, first of all - thank you! I'd then invite you to glance at them again, maybe they'll re-inspire you on your journey or make you think of someone else who's also building her business that might resonate with the teachings, messages and practical advice.
No matter what, I hope these messages of hope, gentleness, and trusting your inner wisdom nourish you and offer inspiration as you head into the new year.
