Your Creative Work: Stepping into the Unknown

Touch the part of you that longs to make a difference and draw upon her strength and knowing.

There's no way around it.

Creating the thing your soul is calling you to do – whether that’s making poetry or art or building your business or any other deep creative activity – can be vulnerable. It takes courage to say no to all that the culture has been trying to force you to do. To resist buying into the system, the one that says you must be a certain way or only do certain things to be successful, the one that narrowly defines that success, laying out hollow steps and illusory signs that lead you farther from love, joy, connection.

It can feel like stepping off a cliff

And this work does ask you to step into the unknown in many ways. Where is this heading? Do I have what it takes? Can I create what I truly long for?

We haven't often been taught other ways of being, of finding the knowing within. But, today, what I most want you to know is that you don't have to run to that edge and jump headlong into the mist in a mad clamor.

You're allowed to go at your own sweet pace—the one that feels most right to you.

The thing is though, keep asking yourself, your deeper self - is this the way? Is this the right next step for me? And then, you fall into your body and feel your way into your next yes - the way a pigeon, a swallow, or a seabird finds her way home on the darkest of nights.
