Embark on an Intuitive Writing Journey
Writing intuitively is setting out on a ship without a compass.
You may have a word, a prompt or an idea of what you want to write about, but when your pen touches the page, you let the words carry you to where the sea wishes. You may end up writing about something completely unrelated to where you started, your prompt or idea being only the point of embarking. Or you may anchor a few hundred meters out, and dive to surprising depths, coming to surface a little bewildered but knowing you’ve found something luminous in the depths.
Writing intuitively asks that you give up your ideas of what or how you’re supposed to write and instead follow your inner writer, listening or feeling or sensing the words seconds before they appear and then placing them on the page.
It’s only when you’ve done this, let go, that you can step back and see what you’ve written, see where you’ve actually traveled to.
I hope you enjoy where your writing takes you this week!
